LM's KS Hairdo's Retexture WIP SSE _1st April UPDATED_
Last updated on: April 5, 2025 at 09:31 PM
I bought for 150€ HairTG - Cards and HairTG Surface for Substance Painter this week and started my KS Hairdo Retex project. I always wanted more rougher, realistic hair.
It's 983 Hairstyles. Which means this will be an ongoing update of the mod until it's finished. Because you don't retexture 983 Hairstyles in some weeks. This will be a project I am doing on the side as much as I feel for it and then update the mod when I have done some more hair.
For now there are 12 hairstyles done. I am unsure if I ever retexture the very curly hairstyles. I have curly hair material but not that curly and I kind of as well don't want to, because it's quiet a pain. As good as the meshes are, I struggle with getting the curly hair illusion right. And when I can't make anything equally good. nor better, I won't.
I might change existing textures if they need fixing. Like Revere doesn't have a proper sculpt texture yet, because I still need to learn to work with HairTG Surface. It's more to know than Cards and I need to find some brain time first for this.
The KS Hairdos mesh UVs are a dream and that's why those retextures are possible. I am very thankful for this high quality mod we got from Kalilies and Stealthic.

- Added more hair, don't ask me which and what. It's causing my brain to hurt. And I will start to avoid updating the mod when something hurts my brain. So I accomodate myself to prevent that to happen. Which would be in everybody's interest, because I assume people would love me to update this mod from time to time.
- Redid AGAIN Chromatic because it get's used by so many hairs and it caused still issues. I hope it's okayish at least for now. ;_;
- Edited the unique LM_hairlines to be better. Quiet proud of those, they are really pretty and it isn't easy to make them. :3
- Added an optional file that has the LM_hairline overwriting the default KS. You can use it or not. I thought as well mod authors of NPC and Follower mods would appreciate this.
- Reworked all existing hair textures as I am still learning the HairTG tools and try to find solutions for certain issues.
- Added Hairs: Adrienne, Alexia, Angele, Angelina, Charlotte, Croft, Dalma, Dalma2, Ginevra, Levitating, Malva, Marie, Miley, Yuna, Slowly
- Edited some existing hair textures.

- pattern 02
- added via ESP duplicates of Burn, Cassy, Adonis, Aftershock and gave them a scalp (uses my own textures)
The download doesn't seem to have the updates. There's only textures for 12 hairstyles
ReplyDeleteOh damn, something must have been gone wrong with the MEGA upload then, thanks for letting me know.
DeleteUpload is fixed now. I have no clue what MEGA did, but it still redirected to the old version instead of the updated one, which normally shouldn't happen.
DeleteThanks for fixing. Textures look good. They're a little dark on my setup but I don't use ENB.
DeleteNothing to do with ENB. I made the textures darker and more brownish. They still fit with the KS scalp texture that is darker, which is fitting the darker roots of the KS Hairdo's own textures. Skyrim doesn't render bright colors well. Mainly outside and with everything that isn't cloudy. I made the compromise of adapting the texture color as much as I could to balance that out. So now you can actually use colors that aren't just a dark brown and they won't go into the direction of glowing, or will look weird. Really bright colors, like a strong bright blue are now possible as well without the hair glowing. It's not perfect, like with everything. Has pro and cons, but I prefer it that way.
DeleteOh, that wasn't me criticizing. I just didn't know how much of a difference that would make. I admire anybody who takes the time to do what your doing.
DeleteOh, I didn't thought it was. I just wanted to explain why I made the decision and why it's darker. I don't want people to look on the wrong end either. Maybe you go on ENB hunt, make all the work, then realize, it's still dark. x'D And thank you! :)
DeleteWow, looks awesome! I love how Serqet looks, I'm like I have to make a character just for this hair. The hairlines look really nice. I did notice a couple of problems. Irene is missing the curly part of the hair, lemur if missing some bangs and the side pieces. Thank you for your time and work.
ReplyDeleteAh shit, I thought I removed all of the textures that aren't fully working yet. x'D Gonna fix that in the next update. Yeah, this is a WIP. I am aware it isn't 100% functional, yet. You just tagging along in my journey of hair insanity. x'D I am actually glad that you mention and like Serqet. I made that one to test if I can retex that. Those meshes and curls aren't easy to work with my tool. Good to know it's usable. There are hairstyles that use the same texture sets. There is no documentation, nor any texture sets in the ESP. That's why sometimes hair is going to be borked. Because I can't possibly know by over 1000 hairstyles. I need to add Lemur's UVs to the Bourbon texture. Irene I was fighting with the braids. It's actually just a test run. x'D
DeleteI don't mind tagging along on your journey of hair insanity, LOL. I just didn't know if it was on purpose or if something got missed. It's a very good test run so no worries.
